BERLIN AIR SHOW ILA 2008 NOW ONLINE AT LAIF.DE ++++

With more than 1.000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, more than 115,000 trade visitors and about 250,000 visitors in total, ILA Berlin Air Show is one of the world’s largest aerospace trade shows. ILA provides best access to the EU and particularly to the markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The ILA, which is jointly organized by the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and Messe Berlin GmbH, covers the segments of Commercial Air Transport, Space exploration, Defense and Security systems, Equipment and General Aviation.

The ILA 2008 devotes an entire section to a display marking the 60th anniversary of the start of the Berlin Airlift. On the opening day, I met a very special guest (see picture right or proceed to picture gallery) there. He goes by several sounding names: Uncle Wiggly Wings, the Schokoladen Flieger, Uncle Wackelfluger and Raisin Bomber. Please read his story, told by the Berlin Airlift Veterans Association here.
